CARBON FUTURE
Cemex is committed to achieving carbon neutrality

This is the first project for the manufacture and use of
synthesis gas in the cement industry, an innovative idea
which will significantly reduce emissions and
will serve as an example for the whole sector.
This project will contribute not only to the decarbonization
of the Alicante factory, but also to the fact that the products
manufactured there will have a smaller carbon footprint
and, therefore, that the buildings and infrastructures built
with these materials will be more sustainable.
Cemex’s roadmap towards climate neutrality set the increased use of
waste-derived fuels (RDF) with a high biomass percentage
as key to reducing GHG generation.
The use of waste materials that have the potential
to be reused as fuel or feedstock is
Cemex’s circular economy commitment.
